New PIP claim

Hi all,
I made a new PIP claim at the beginning of November and was advised a response time of upto 26 weeks. Mid December I got a text advising of an assessment, which I had on the 3rd of Jan. I rang today (6th Jan) to request a copy of my report, I was told first I couldn't get it until a decision was made, then a different agent said they'll send it now and it'll be with me in 7 days 🤷♀️
My main question is about timescales, I was told that there is a decision deadline on my application for the 10th of Jan, but this could go to be reviewed afterwards. Has anyone had their initial decision go to be reviewed? If so does anyone know how long that usually takes?
As like many on here, I'm extremely anxious about this assessment result and if I'll be rewarded or not. I'm not an overly patient person as it is so with waiting, alongside juggling my disabilities, trying to remote work, and 3 children in the house, it's causing me some pretty intense anxiety!
I know it's difficult to give a concrete timeline but anything may help settle my nerves, if it helps I am based in South Yorkshire if anyone has started this process recently in the area?
Thanks so much in advance for your help!

Timescales are just a guide, it's like asking how long is a piece of string. 😉 Timescales once the assessment report is returned is up to about 12 weeks. Some have a decision within a couple of weeks, some a few weeks, others several and sometimes even longer than 12 weeks.
Before a decision is made the decision make will look at everything you sent, including the PIP2 form, the assessment report and then make their decision. Mostly they go with the recommendation in the report but not always, I've known them go against that report but it's rare.
You will be contacted once a decision is made.

Hi @JJ138, welcome to the community. Unfortunately, as Poppy mentioned, these things are so hard to predict. It varies a lot from case to case, but I understand how worrying it can be to wait when you're dealing with a lot in your day-to-day life.
Hope you hear back sooner rather than later and you get the result you're hoping for!
