Hi
I'm a disabled adoptive parent. I know it's a slightly different process, but reach out if I can help in any way.

Hi @SweetTooth
Fostering and adoption can be very rewarding. There are medical assessments for everyone who goes through these processes.
Having a disability doesn't prevent you from fostering a child, but the organisations want to ensure looking after a child won't impact yours or the child's health and well being. When we went through the adoption process, I was having lots of seizures, so we were unable to adopt a baby. We were asked to consider a child around three and involve support from our family. We did this and our son is 21 next week.
It's important to be honest with the care providers and yourself. They want to work with people from all backgrounds and having a disability brings another dynamic to all the relationships.
If you visit your Local Authority's website, they will have more details on the criteria.
Good luck
Sara
