Esa uc m8gration help needed
HI everyone, I received my migration notice this morning and started my claim immediately.
Filled everything in and added to my journal under the 'payments' section that I am in the support group and should automatically transfer to lcwra due to regulation 19.
Just logged back into my homepage and under the section that says 'HOW WE CALCULATE YOUR PAYMENT ' , IT STATES.... STANDARD
AND THEN
'That I will likely receive a standard amount and that I am single, '
THEN THIS
'HEALTH'.
'YOU SAID YOUR HEALTH AFFECTS YOU AT WORK OR PREVENTS YOU FROM WORKING. YOU MIGHT NEED TO HAVE AN ASSESSMENT BEFORE WE CAN CONSIDER IF YOU WILL GET EXTRA MONEY FOR THIS'.
Can someone explain to me what this means ?
I am on cb esa and ir esa and am migrating for the ir esa only.
Do they mean I need an assessment ? What is THIS HEALTH ELEMENT ?
Am I going to lose money ?
I thought I would just be migrating over...
I'm so confused and so worried, and very unwell.
Would really appreciate if somebody could tell me what this health thing means .
THANKS IN ADVANCE
ROSE

hello I migrated over and had the same message, it seems to be just a generic message put on there for everyone even new claimants that have never had an assessment, I migrated in November and didn’t need to be reassessed and got my health element straight away as it’s the equivalent of support group on esa, it is very worrying but it really wasn’t that bad for me at all hope you’re okay ❤️

Thank you so much mangomungo. I'm so glad it all worked out for you.
Really appreciate you taking the time to answer.
Kind regards
Rose. X

You need to wait until they update your claim and include the LCWRA element and this can often take a few weeks. You do not need to provide any fit notes.

When someone is on both CB & IR ESA, upon migration to UC the IR ESA ends and is replaced by UC, the CB ESA converts automatically into New Style ESA.
You will still be in the Support Group for NS ESA & automatically receive the UC equivalent (LCWRA).
NS ESA will be paid separately from UC, fortnightly at a rate of £276.40.
This will be deducted in full (598.68) from each UC payment.
As UC is a monthly benefit and ESA weekly, the numbers may look wrong- but are correct. As there are 4.3 weeks in a month.
You might get a letter mentioning medical evidence, work coach etc.
Don't panic. The letter is a generic letter, assuming the claim is a brand new one and not a transfer from the old ESA. Most of it won't apply to you claim.
You will need a commitments interview for NS ESA this is just a formality, your commitments will be to keep them updated with any changes. If a face to face is booked, you can ask for a phone call instead as a reasonable adjustment.

Thank you so much poppy and kimmy, I'm housebound so hopefully the commitment meeting can be done by phone or home visit.
What commitments are asked /expected of people like myself in lcwra/support group ?
I'm in no way well enough to work or do training courses....

There are no commitments for either SG NS ESA or UC LCWRA beyond keeping them informed of any changes in circumstances.

Thanks kimmy , I understand I will have to keep them updated etc.
What should I do if I receive a generic letter that asks for fit notes and medical evidence ?
So Sorry for all the questions .....

Thanks poppy, even though I don't have to provide fit notes etc, if I receive a letter asking for fit notes or evidence, should I call them and update the journal ?

If you get a Fit Note request from UC:
Ignore it as it means the system has picked up on your health condition but doesn't yet know your ESA status. This usually takes several weeks. Once UC has confirmation from ESA, any request will be removed and dissappear from your Journal.
If the request is from NS ESA:
Ignore it as that's for brand new claims only. Not for those swapping automatically from CB ESA to NS ESA.

Thank you so much kimmy. I really appreciate you getting back to me . X Thanks for explaining so well too. X

Also how would NS ESA request a fit note ? Would that be on my journal or would it be by letter through the post or text ?
Again, I'm sorry for all the questions. X

It will likely be through a letter but that letter is a standard letter that they send to new claimants. Although you're a new claimant, you're automatically reverting across to it from contributions based ESA.
When you receive that letter please do not panic, there's nothing to worry about.

You said your health affects you at work or prevents you from working. You might need to have an assessment before we can consider if you will get extra money for this.
I got this as well on my journal and feel very uneasy and stressed as I was in the support group on ESA and got migrated but I see on your post the answers I was needing.🙏 Mine is set up like I have a work coach so it was a relief to see the answers 🙏
