Adhd private assessments

I just found a company for assessment they say no profit organisation charging 600 for adhd assessment I get my daughter to check it out and if legit I'm going private if you go private is it taken seriously as a diagnosis

    You need to make sure any assessment done mentions "NICE guidelines" and "gold standard"

    That does sound on the 'cheap' side - about half the price!

    Check in with your GP first to see if they will support a private diagnosis. Not all will.

    If they will support it, you can then get any meds prescribed on the NHS. If the gp will not support it, there is an option to buy your prescriptions from the private clinic and pay for any meds privately.

    If your gp WILL support a private diagnosis - get a private diagnosis done and a copy goes to your gp. Then your gp can prescribe meds via nhs.

    If your gp will not support it - it means that you will not be able to get prescribed meds via nhs but could buy them privately.

    How can I get my daughters private diagnosis of ADHD and autism recognised on NHS, it meets nice guidelines and GP has recognised it but the NHS local branch won't take it through nhs

    It can be difficult @lisaann76, some services seem to accept them and some don't. It's good that your daughter's GP is supportive, though. Are you trying to access further care? Could the GP help support your daughter's case perhaps?

    Is there any reason for going private? I know there are waiting times when not going private but with right to choose some of the providers waiting times are not that long and are just weeks.

    I suppose the nhs stance on this is if you can pay for a private diagnosis yourself you can pay for the medication yourself I thought the nhs made this clear back along

    Sorry this was for my daughter to go private for autiusm test i seen one for 600 shes struggling so much at work and life

    Nope I didn't pay as my daughter got it done because of her needs and waiting list of 6 years, but I'll be honest I'm still no better of even though didn't pay coz I'm now paying for the meds

    And DLA did take it so did school so did local authority,and benifits but no to NHS coz the consultant only saw for 5 mins when she was younger and basically said no coz she sat with a ds, I had to try control her to talk to doctor, and at the time the school was useless
