Hi everyone I've been waiting over a year for a re assessment and today got a txt to say my review was complete without an assesment and ive rang and spoke to pip and I get the same amount till 2029.

Great news I was so worried about it.

I only get the low amount and no mobility but it helps me alot.

    That's really good news @jason40 😁

Do you think you deserved to score a little higher though? I know you're happy with what you were awarded but I figured I'd ask still

I was thinking about doing a mandatory reconsideration because I believe I should get at least the low mobility but I don't want to loose what I have already.

I think to be honest they have that many applications at the minute to look at it's easier for them just to do a paper based and give you what you already had. Even though my mobility is worse then 4 years ago they never gave me it then either so I don't really want to loose what I've got now by doing a mandatory reconsideration.

The most likely outcome of the MR decision is there will be no change. Only about 24% of MR decisions change in the claimants favour. It's very rare to lose points and your existing award by requesting this, although it can happen.

At Tribunal stage there's no risk because if they consider removing points they warn you before doing this and they would do that either by letter before the hearing. Or on the day of the hearing, it would then be adjourned for you to go home and consider your options. You could then cancel the hearing or continue at your own risk.

This link may help you understand the descriptors a little more.

We are not awarded PIP because we deserve it, we are awarded because we are entitled to it and we meet the descriptors to score the points needed for an award.
