Hi @mandyletts, if you are in hospital for more than 28 days then your PIP is suspended. You just need to inform the DWP when you leave the hospital, they will then continue payments. Even if it's just for a part of a day that you are out of the hospital. They should pay PIP for just that day.
You can read more about it here: Reporting changes that affect your PIP - Citizens Advice
Scroll down to the 'If you go into a hospital or care home'

Your PIP claim will not be closed after 28 days, it's suspended. Please note that the day you go into hospital and the day you go home are not counted in those 28 days. If you go back into hospital within 28 days then those days will be linked with your previous hospital stay.

Thank you poppy it just seems so unfair I can understand a bit taking my daughters dla because she's being cared for by the nurses (although I'm still with her doing everything like feeding, dressing, bathing, giving medicine and stuff!!) but to take my pip because I have to stay in with her feels inhumane

If your daughter is under the age of 18 then her DLA should not be suspended after 28 days.
if she’s still a child then I’m not sure whether your PIP should stop after 28 days because you are there because she’s a child. If she wasn’t a child you wouldn’t be staying with her.0
