Pip worsened condition

Hi I have been awarded standard rate pip for over a year now. On my original claim I had mentioned I had problems with my hips. Since then things got worse and I have had a diagnosis for what the hip problems were and now my daily needs and mobility have worsened. Meaning I am less mobile. I originally got 10 points on my pip mobility. Do I tell pip of my condition worsening? Do you think I will be re assessed for my whole claim or just the new information.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Em1
I’m sure that Scope admin will have some advice on this but please look at the post I made in November 2024.
latest update is my Mandatory Reconsideration also awarded zero points so I have logged an appeal to go to Tribunal.Remember that DWP treat any change in circumstances as if it were a new claim.

ah that’s good advice thank you. So will have to treat it as a new claim with every new information added. Has your awarded stopped whilst you go through this or are you still having your regular payments. Thank you!

My award stopped in November when they made the first decision.
I don’t mean to put you off applying for higher rates but remember to include the information about all your conditions both old and new on your form.0 -
Oh that’s really frustrating. I’m sorry this happened to you. Whilst going through the change of circumstances does your pay stop until the decision is made?
Thank you for your help, I will definitely be speaking to my local advice centre and see if they can help me fill the forms out.0 -
You need to be very careful about reporting changes because a worsening of condition doesn't automatically entitle you to more points for a higher award, same for a diagnosis.
When you report changes you will be sent another form to fill in and return. Yes, you'll need to make sure you treat it as a new claim and include as much relevant information as possible. Any additional evidence you have should be sent with the form.
Once a decision is made your award could either remain the same, be reduced, increased and even stop completely.

thank you for your comment poppy. I will be speaking to an adviser also to help with this. My condition has made my mobility worse and also some other points where I didn’t receive any points for may actually have scored now.
