How will this change my ESA?

I am on ESA I get £161 a week I have applied for Care allowance how will this effect my ESA

I replied to your comment before it was split from another thread and I see my comment didn't go with that split. This was my reply.
It depends if it’s all Income Related or part contributions based. If all Income Related the CA will be deducted from your ESA and they will add the carers premium. CA will then be paid as a separate payment.
If it’s part contributions based then you will have what’s known as an underlying entitlement to it because CA and contributions based ESA are overlapping benefits. You will not receive payment for CA but they will include the carers premium in with your ESA.
Either way, financially you will be £45.60/week better off.
