PIP but no PIP2

I am supporting someone who made a claim for PIP but didn't complete and return the PIP2 form. He has been contacted by Maximus with a date for a telephone assessment. I assume that they will ask him for details of his medical professionals, prescriptions etc as they won't have this information. Has anyone had experience of this and how long the assessment is likely to take? Should he send in medical evidence before or after the phone call? He has recently had a major operation and has only been home a short time will be asked questions about how is now and how he was before the operation?

Hi, ironically I have posted posted a thread with a similar theme, my partner was awarded PIP a few years ago and is now due for review. However they are now saying they never recieved her application form, but still went ahead with an assessment! all sounds a bit odd to me!.

If a person has a vulnerable marker on file they can proceed with a claim without having to return a form such as PIP2 or the review form. The only issue with this, if it's a first time claim is that they won't have any information about their health conditions, unless they claim another benefit such as ESA or UC and have been through the work capability assessment and then they can get information from there, though they don't always do that.
Yes, they can send evidence to Maximus but I'd advise them to do that before the assessment takes place. They can also cancel this appointment and wait for another date and this will hopefully give them time to send some evidence. They will need to make sure they ring Maximus to ask what address to send everything to.
During the assessment they will ask questions about how their conditions affect them. The only issue I see here is that when someone has surgery they are obviously going to be worse to start with due to the surgery but if that isn't expected to last at least 9 months, it will not be taken into consideration.
