Anybody worried about the DWP checking on bank accounts?

what is there to be worried about i dont see it as a problem myself am sure a lot will disagree but hey ho there is worse things going on in the world

No. They are only interested in what goes in to your account. In my case the only two things that go in on a regular basis are from the dwp.
Since I changed to a current account it actually says that on the statement, so the council review will not need that explaining to them next time round! Making my life less stressful at the time.

It's not nice going through a Universal Credit check, and being questioned about your outgoings (£12pm on a window cleaner was one of the things they asked about 🙄), but that's part of claiming a means tested benefit and has to be accepted.

Has it passed as law that DWP has more power to check accounts and also is AI being used to check claims

If it eventually stops the obstructive manual UC checks, I think I would prefer the new system. The only concern I have is if they overstep their bounds.

Is this why they need an appointment then? I do spend money on some unusual things, so I am not looking forward to mine.

I felt same when had benefit checks and trust me my spending bad i have no control wasnt questioned about any of it
