RIP PIP? - possible new disability benefit on the cards

completely ludicrous when considering the switch from dla to pip is still not complete and the cost of introducing a new type of benefits tends to run into the billions and transferring ppl over takes years as we know
It’s definitely not a one term gov project
However there are positives - if this option is taken they would be less likely to change pip criteria (if it does become an outgoing benefit) - I’ve also always personally hated that pip have never really been about disablity/health condition (even though I get more on pip, I feel dla was a fairer system which more security)
Anyways, read the article and see what you think (also sound like dwp will be launching another consultation on top of the wca rerun)

I've just completed the survey. Straightforward and clear questions. Some of it sounds too good to be true but maybe I am just being cynical. No need to give email address as I know this puts some people off responding to the consultation.

They really need to distinguish between people who can move back into work and people who can't. I keep seeing this assumption that everyone on disability benefits can work and wants to work.

hi dose anyone know if Pip will go up in April

None of the links posted have led me to the questions. Help!
My initial thought is that this could deliver a receipt-based benefit along the lines if one of the options in last year's Green Paper.

None of the links have lead me to the questions either.

I copied and pasted the link given in this article, which took me to the survey 🤷🏼♀️

Open the above link. It opens to the introduction page, scroll to the bottom of that page it says next, click on the next button and it opens straight into the survey. It took me a moment to find it as well; ideally, the button would be more prominent for improved user experience!

what do ppl on here think of pip potentially being replaced by a new benefit rather than pip being reformed itself?
I honestly never considered an replacement disability benefit being an option on the tableIf you go by history when the dwp usually replace a benefit it is often with a worse system than the previous one
And it’s obvious the dwp want to tighten criteria - but I’m personally not against it if the dwp wants to make official diagnosis a bigger part of the award assignment process (especially if it will mean less reassessments for those of us with lifelong, incurable disabilities and health conditions)
And it will take them ages to set up (no changes immediately would be a plus)
But that’s me

It took me a
bitlot longer than 15mins to complete, but you can go back & forward without losing anything. As @judie put, some of it or most of it, seems to good to be true.
It has always irked me that the government pays mega money to the huge & mostly useless companies (Atos was the most unbelievable waste & a con!), when surely, someone with a bit of nous can come up with something better. Well…..

I've just completed it. Thank you very much for making me aware of the consultation. I hope other people within the community know about this and fill it in.

Sorry to be a pain, but I'm still not able to access the questions in the survey! I scrolled to the bottom of the page on the link, but there is no 'Next' at the bottom of the page.

@Spangles1963, there's a light box across the bottom with a small 'next' in the middle of it. It does state…
The layout of this survey means that it is easier to complete on a laptop. It is compatible with mobile devices but results in more pages to complete.
Don't know whether that means the opening page is different on a mobile, maybe those that filled it on their phone could say.
