good morning all, just some general guidance please. so, i was awarded lcwra late last year based on my anxiety and depression. beginning of jan, i was admitted to hospital with a suspected heart attack and have now been diagnosed with angina and on medication for. my understanding is that i no longer have to get fit notes for lcwra but should i be getting them in 'preparation' for submitting a brand new pip claim? any advice appreciated x

You don't need Fit Notes to apply for PIP.

Hi @harry79, As Kimmy says, you won't need any fit notes to apply for PIP, so there's no need to keep getting them 😊

PIP is all about how your conditions affect you day to day, it's not related to your ability to work, so fit notes aren't required. Many people work and claim PIP at the same time as it's designed to help with the costs of your conditions rather than being an unemployment benefit. Although of course some people do claim when they're unemployed too.

Many of our members have been through the PIP process so if you need any advice on your claim please don't be afraid to ask.
