Any advice with our UC claim?

hi my husband has been off sick for almost 28 weeks ,he’s still recovery after major eye surgery. We are both on a joint claim uc with disable child and I have lwrca. We were not prepared for his recovery to take that long . Now what is the next step for us ? Any advice ? We are obviously worry about financial side

    Which elements exactly are on your UC award please?

    Is your husband receiving sick pay, or New Style ESA?

    hi I’m on Pip and our child on dla higher elements daily and low mobility . Husband is on ssp but that is going to to end soon

    I was asking what Universal Credit elements you get on your claim.

    LCWRA for yourself?

    Are you receiving Disabled Child Element?

    Is husband receiving Carers Element for looking after your child?

    (I know you aren't because the same person cannot get CE and LCWRA)

    When SSP ends he can apply for New Style ESA, if eligible

    Like SSP this would be deducted in full from your UC award.

    yes LCWRA for myself and yes disabled child element and CE

    Ok thank you I think I understand so in theory we shouldn’t me worse off
