Hello everyone.
I'm quite apprehensive, as I'm not sure if there is anybody like me on here.
I have brain damage, an wee list of issues stemming from it. I think I was just looking for people to talk to who may know similar issues to me, you know what it's like living with brain damage etc.
Hi anyway even if there isn't.
Excuse my stress and paranoia, PTSD symptoms I think.

Hi @steve51,
I hope you doing good.
My mum had severals strokes last year which ended with right side paralysis and aphasia.
My mum undergoing speech and language therapy and daily rehabilitation and is doing better than last yet but she is 74 now and become very stubborn.
We are trying to organise people to help with living but she is rejecting help.
She wants to live on her own and I have to mention I face her decision with pain in my heart.

Hi @Meeckle
Many thanks I'm still fighting how are you doing ???
Yes it takes a long time following a Brain Injury you have to go through so much.
How are you copping if you don't mind me asking ???
I had to relearn everything again just like a (Baby) Yes & "Nappies"
No on a serious note it is a long & wide road back to get on track again.
I find the "Hidden Disability" one of the hardest things to get across.
You have to justify being disabled don't you think ???
Please please let me know if I can help at anytime ???

Hi @Meeckle,
Welcome to Scope's online community! It's great to have you here.
As @iza mentions in her comment above, Headway are a charity which supports people with brain injuries. They have lots of information available on their website, including a helpline, which you can contact on 0808 800 2244.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions, then please do get in touch!0
