Hi, my name is Catherine1108! Housing information

I live in Northern Ireland in over 55s Category 1 Housing Fully Independent. I am Severely Disabled and an Electric wheelchair user through PIP. I am 66 but know that there are well under 50s living here and even in over 55s Sheltered Accommodation. Apparently management can make a local decision. However we still have the 1995 Disability Discrimination ACT and because of the controversial Protocol we have Full European Human Rights. We have an Equality Commission alongside the Human Rights Commission. If you are in Britain then I don't know where you stand. I know locally The Housing Rights Northern Ireland are helpful as are Disability Action. Both are UK wide. I think there is Failure to make reasonable adjustments and maybe initially Housing Rights could negotiate. However you may have already tried that. Good luck. Catherine
