Hi I have bipolar diagnosed when I was 19 I'm now 60. Ive just had my PIP review. I had a supporter with me but still felt emotionally triggered by it. Kept being asked the same question over and over again. My supporter stepped in at one point suggesting they stop repeating the question. I cried for a hour afterwards and today ive been emotionally wiped out. I feel very strongly that this treatment is getting worse each time I'm assessed. I can't understand why they keep assessing my bipolar is life long I'm not going to get better. Has any one got any advice in dealing with the after marth

Heya @Jabby and welcome from me too. 😊

Sorry you had such a rubbish experience. I agree it does seem very silly that they feel the need to reassess people with lifelong conditions. I'll have another assessment in 3 years, just so the DWP can check that I'm still autistic. 😆

As for dealing with the aftermath, honestly, just be gentle with yourself and know the assessor doesn't have anything against you, they're needing to fill in a load if tick boxes. Just try and do something fun for you, even if it's a hot bath and good cuppa to recharge a bit.

Thank you it's good to know it's not just me. I've just had a log burner fitted in my lounge to keep one rom warm. But I had no idea it is do calming just watching the wood burn , really aids mindfulness
