You have to wait for the outcome of your Mandatory Reconsideration I'm afraid, before you can submit an appeal.

Hello @Jane315STARX
If you have applied for PIP and you have just had your descision and you are do not think that the descision is a true reflection of your current needs then you need to do a Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) so another descision maker can look at your MR and all of the written evidence that you sent on your application form to see if a different descision is warranted.
A detailed MR Letter will increase your chances at getting an award if you need to goto appeal because the MR letter will be used as evidence at your appeal so it is important that you write a detailed and accurate MR letter.
You have 1 month from the date of the descision letter to request a MR or you have another 12 months ater the 1 month to submit a MR request if you give a valid reason for requesting a late Mandatory Reconsideration like for example ill health assosiated with your disability or you were waiting for further evidence to backup you Claim and MR.
I wrote a lengthy reply to another Scope forum member about how to do a MR. It is focused on a physical disability but the same principle applies for all conditions. You can find my information at this link
I hope that helps.

I just wondered if I could skip waiting their decline ( as I know it will be based on the statistics and it's just extremely stressful with everything else I have going on so I just want to eliminate the remaining 7 weeks and get on with what I need to do for a tribunal

Sorry to say no you cannot.
You can research on what to do at a tribunal while you wait so you can be ready if you need to make an appeal but you cannot go to appeal without doing a MR first and getting the descision from the MR.

Hi you may not get a refusal from your MR.
Last time I was reassessed my mobility component was reduced from high to standard and I did a MR.
It was upheld by the DWP so I applied for a tribunal hearing but the DWP rang me and made me an offer of high rate mobilty before it got to tribunal stage.

I got 0 points for and only 4 points over all so it's highly unlikely

Hey @Jane315STARX I totally get how stressed you must be feeling right now, but it's definitely worth carrying on the fight. Applying for the tribunal was super easy as it can be done online now. 😊
