Hi guys. I am looking for advice and/or to hear other's experiences of transitioning from not being able to work/receiving benefits to being able to do part time.

I have a chronic illness which fortunately (with treatment) seems to have improved and I am at a point where I am starting to do some things to get prepared for work even though I am not currently expected to.

I am thinking of trying some work experience even though I am in my late 20's , I never really got to work much before I got unwell and am concerned my confidence in a work situation could be quite low at first. I would also need to see how I physically managed.

Would be good to hear others expereinces or to have a discussion :)

Hi @Biz33 sorry you've not received a response yet. That sounds really positive. Have things progressed for you at all since initially posting? It might be worth having a look at the Work category as there might be some similar experiences posted here that may be helpful.

We also offer a support to work service. I'm sure one of the team would be happy to have a chat with you about their experiences with other people who have used our service and offer some advice. The link is here - Support to Work | Disability charity Scope UK

    Best wishes,
