Lowered payment

Hello,

I usually get the Mobility Standard Rate of £114.80 per month and have recently had a reassessment to see if I am still eligible for PIP.

I called in this morning after they said they had reached a decision and it said my next payment will only be £4.10. Does anyone know what this means? I am assuming the worst and I'm thinking I didn't qualify.

I expect a letter in 2 weeks but I wish they would tell me immediately as I am quite stressed now. I really don't want to go through the draining process of MR and Tribunal again. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Kind regards,

    Hi,

The PIP line is often wrong. Don't read too much into it. Hopefully the letter will arrive soon to confirm either way.

Sadly I achieved 0 in everything again and they have claimed 'my needs have been reduced' which I don't know what that even means.

I will have to go through the MR process again as I suspected; they also decided to end my award earlier (as it was supposed to end July 2025) which is really upsetting. Judging by how the MR process went last time for me I also suspect I may have to go tribunal again.

Oh @imz I'm so sorry, that's rubbish news. I've been in the same position 3 times now so I can know how draining it can be. Though this most recent time they settled without having to actually go to the tribunal, which was a nice surprise! I'll keep everything crossed for a good outcome with the MR. We're all here for support if you need us. ❤️

Thank you @Albus_Scope, is there anything you did differently last time for MR?

Is there anything I can do differently? At this point it feels like no matter what I say and no matter how bad my circumstances are, they will always claim you're not eligible with superficial reasoning.

It does feel like they're just picking at anything doesn't it? Last time I was told because I could use facebook, I had no problems with engaging with people face to face. 😆

This time, I did my MR in writing and I focused on which descriptors I think I should get points for, how many points I should get and why. I used real life scenarios, with consequences. It sounded fairly clinical, but from a box ticking point of view, it looked great.

They still turned me down at the MR stage, but a week after I applied online for the tribunal, they called and offered me enhanced for mobility and daily living. So just keep going, you got this!
