PIP experience

My pip experience so far:
(Severe Anxiety & Depressive disorder)
I rang up on the 3rd of December 2024 to request pip form.
PIP form filled in and sent off with LOTS of evidence on 23rd December 2024
Received text message on the 2nd January 2025 stating they have received my form and will contact me for a consultation if they need to (Maximus).
Text message received with a consultation appointment on the 5th February 2025 (which I changed) booked for Sunday 23rd February 2025 (yesterday) which lasted 26 minutes.
Text message received this morning saying my report had been sent off to DWP and I should have a decision within 8 weeks.

Sounds like a very quick turnaround so far @Holly54321, thank you for sharing your timeline with us.
How did you find the assessment?

Hi @Morgan_Scope 🙂
It’s no problem. I know everyone’s pip journey is different I just know how horrible it is searching the internet for any bit of useful information so if I can help ease someone else’s anxiety a little, great!
The lady that did my telephone consultation was actually lovely. I don’t think I did very well as my anxiety was through the roof and could barely get any words out😩 so I’m expecting disappointment but trying to stay positive I guess.2 -

Hi,
Does anyone know how long after having your telephone consultation can you contact the PIP enquiry line to request the report?

I'd usually advise leaving a few working days.
However the forum has had a number of people with recent experience being refused a copy of the report after assessment, and/or being refused any verbal information once they've been told a decision has been made.

Hi @Kimmy87,
I did actually ring them yesterday morning and the man I spoke to was lovely & said I would receive it within 5-10 days. However, he did say ‘just a word of advice, by no means is the report a final decision & the decision maker may need to contact you for further information’
Does that sound standard or was he dropping an hint that I’m going to have to go through this again?😖

I'm glad they agreed to send it out.
What he said is factually correct, the DWP Decision Maker usually goes with the recommendation but not always.

just an update guys, I’ll continue where I left off..
24th Feb - text message saying ‘we have received your pip report and we will write to you once we have made a decision etc..’
25th Feb I rang up to request my report (received 2 weeks later)
7th March my anxiety got the better of me and I contacted to see if a decision had been made and I was told it had been made that morning (perfect timing) that I had been awarded but they couldn’t see my award, I was to wait on my award text message then I could ring them back.
10th March award text came through and I contacted them. Was told my award, how much I was being backpaid and the dates it would go into my bank.
Still awaiting my decision letter but obviously it’s only been a few days it’ll probs be 2 weeks to receive like the report was.
Hope this eases anyone’s anxiety right now or helps in any way🙂 Good Luck 🤞🏼

Do you know how long the award is for?

@luvpink im sure the lady on the phone told me it was until sometime in 2028. If they’re cutting benefits though doesn’t that mean they can go back on everything they say? 😞

I wouldn't think so but we don't yet know the government plans.
