No genuine co-production for Timms review
From the Benefits and Work site The promised genuine co-production of the Timms personal independence payment (PIP) review already seems to have been ruled out by disability minister Stephen Timms. Timms gave more details of the process in an interview with the BBC last week covering both the PIP review and the forthcoming…

Future of CB-ESA & other Green Paper proposals not included in the UC & PIP Bill
I’m starting this thread with the permission of @Albus_Scope at @Community_Scope The purpose of the thread is to focus of those areas of the Green Paper that were open to consultation until 30 June and do not form part of the Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment Bill that is currently making its way through…

Means-testing PIP
I thought this possibility had gone away until I saw this on B&W. I don't know whether it's genuine or someone seeking to scare the vulnerable. EDIT: More than a rumour. I would have no income whatsoever: @Albus_Scope @Holly_Scope

Disability Benefit Cuts - Take action before July 9th.
On 1 July, MPs voted on the Government's plans to cut disability benefits. Here's what you need to know: The Government have paused their plans to make it harder to claim Personal Independence Payment (PIP). They’ve said they’ll consult with disabled people before making any changes. This is a direct result of the pressure…

Important call to action: MPs will vote on these plans again in Parliament on 9 July 2025.
The Government has recently introduced the Universal Credit Welfare Bill. On 1 July, the bill had its second reading. Parliament voted to pass the bill which means it will now have its third reading next week. The Government has now changed the proposals in the bill since its first reading. But it will still make cuts to…

LCWRA Questions
Firstly thanks to you for always replying and helping. I am really worried and worse in myself since all this started a few months ago. I certainly cry more than her in parliament yesterday out of fear and worry of what's to come. Will my LCWRA as it doesn't have a set time of review just continue to 2030 until it is…

Scope's reply to the governments planned concessions to the green paper.
The concessions to this bill do not go far enough. They create an unfair, two-tier system which will widen the gap in support for current and future claimants as time goes on. We still want to see all disabled people protected from cuts. And we want the government to consult with disabled people on these changes as well.…

What has changed after last night's UC and PIP bill vote?
Was there anything positive about last night’s result? This depends on your point of view. The government got their bill through its first vote and that is undoubtedly a bad thing. New disabled claimants of UC from April 2026 will be hit very hard by the cut and freeze to the health element. And the Timms review could…

MINISTERIAL REVIEW MENTIONED IN GOVERNMENT REPONSE TO WELFARE REFORM REBELLION
I noticed in the response from the Government this morning they mentioned a ministerial review of the PIP will be happening. I read somewhere that changes from this likely be brought in by Stephen Timms in 2028 when the WCA is being abolished and PIP is being used as assessent. Can anyone tell me if they know if 2028 is…

THANK YOUR MPS WHO FOUGHT FOR YOU
So often we contact MPs when something goes wrong, but there were a lot of MPs who have fought to defend disabled people’s benefits. If your MP was one of them, imagine how uplifting it would be for them to receive and email or letter with a simple Thank You. It takes courage to stand up and vote against a bill in your own…

Welfare Reform Vote Discussion 💜
This week has been especially challenging for us all, and we recognise the importance of this evening’s welfare reform vote, and how it impacts our community. Therefore, we believe it’s important to create a specific discussion for the community to discuss the political vote away from the concessions chat. It’s central to…

Ai Say Government Defeat
I been using various Ai probability platforms and AI is saying the government will be defeated on these changes and a detailed investigation into the failing of this proposed change will force through a fair deal for existing and new claims.

PiP I'm Confused
I really appreciate it if you can help me understand this. The government agreed these new proposed changes to pip for the vote next week. So if everything goes through. Should I lose pip because my review is very soon. Would I still keep my LCWRA . I am completely confused by it all now. Thanks for your time if you can…

Pip 10 year review
My son was awarded PIP in July 2015, and I'm his appointee. The letter just said he had been awarded for an ongoing period, with no mention of a date for contact anywhere. He is autistic and had endless medical evidence /reports from his specialist school etc. It was quite clear at 16 that he was severely autistic. Very…

It seems so wrong that the government wants to mainly concentrate on the substantial risk...
category when WCA reassessments begin in or after April 2026. I would've thought people under substantial risk would be the most vulnerable serious cases and so surely we should be left until last or just left alone completely? I'm under substantial risk myself and I'm worried sick.

Welfare reform and UC PIP
I've just lost my post for the first time - another 2 pages. Frustrating. Here's a shorter version Buddhism mantra ''Extend the Vajra wall of determination.'' Please Google this for the full inspiring mediational, compassionate meaning. We need to see this campaign through to the - not bitter -end??! I am joyful. We do not…
