Hi, this is my first post but I just wanted some outside perspective. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and work part time. I’ve worked for the business for almost 20 years. My role can and has been done completely from home since covid. They are now asking that we return to the office 1 day a week. Unfortunately, even half…

I wonder if anyone can throw any light on this. Many years BEFORE pension age, I was awarded High Rate DLA and Low rate Care. In 2019 I was transferred over to PIP as I had no choice but I was then over pension age. nevertheless I still got Enhanced Mobility and Standard rate Daily Recently my circumstances changed and I…

Wheelchair access impossible
I am fed up with people parking their vehicles, thoughlessly on pavements totally blocking my path and also the lack of dropped kerbs that mean that I cannot get to where I want to go without a considerable diversion - I asked my local councillor for help a few months ago and was told that a lack of money prevented any…

Can Scope please take action on this
I have just complained to IPSO about an extremely dangerous, inaccurate and scaremongering article that was published online yesterday about PIP. They have presented a terrifying change as a fact that is going to happen and I have complained based on inaccuracy but really they should be held to account for literally…

Savings Threshold and Christmas bonus
With the cost of living crisis and bills going through the roof - forgive me for sounding like a stuck record, but now that we have a new Government, surely it must be time to raise the earnings threshold from £6000 - even if it's only a little bit. I also would like to see the generous bonus of £10 put up or even…

Minister for disabled, downgraded.
The job of minister for disabled people has been downgraded, with the new holder of the position staying at the most junior level in government. Mims Davies has taken on the role within the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), but remains a parliamentary under secretary of state. Predecessor Tom Pursglove was a minister…

Accessible toilets
I recently organised a function in a pub chosen partly because of its accessibility to wheelchair users and its decent accessible toilet. All went well until one of our wheelchair-using guests needed to use the toilet and discovered that it had been broken the previous day and was not usable. The management hadn't even…

The Essentials of Universal Credit
Sarah is part of the team at Universal Credit Essentials,
a group of volunteer, work from home benefit experts who give up their time to
help others understand and navigate their Universal Credit claims. Many of the

About the PM's (Sunak's) speech: Stop demonising us
Hi all, I know many of you will have heard about Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's speech on Britain's 'sick note culture' on Friday . He announced plans to make changes to Personal Independence Payment (PIP), one of the main disability benefits. And change how people are assessed as unfit for work. Among other suggestions.…

Should I bill the housing association?
So my dfg finally got granted after 6 years of fighting over some OTs wording. Only the cowboy's they employed messed up and it's just cost me £280 to put it right with a landscape gardener who's said the work done is in breach of building regulations so doesn't know why it's been left like this. I had a huge cry and fight…

Benefits
Hi before the new Labour government make changes to PIP and universal credit, do they have to pass this as a bill through parliament and if so how long is this likely to take before we see any changes to our benefits. Thanks

Scope should make formal complaint about the Press?
Upset and distress here is fuelled by confused mish-mash in Google feeds from lazy journalists who do not check their facts. This does no good to anyone. Often the headline is deliberate clickbait to frighten people. https://www.ipso.co.uk/making-a-complaint/

Disabled and sick forced to work.
What does everyone who claims universal credit who is disabled or sick think about this government announcing that universal credit claiments will be forced to work even if you are paralysed? This is going to Start in 2024. Nobody seems to be talking about it on scope.
