Hello everyone, My PIP has recently increased to enhanced Daily living from Standard rate. I filled in a change of circumstance form review and the decision was made within 2 weeks š³ without a f2f. I have just read that there are plans to scrap all payments made on PIP to people with mental health illnesses. What I have read it, they are making it sounds like these cuts will be made immediately. Worried about PIP & ESA changed
I am in receipt of PIP & ESA for complex mental health & physical conditions, including post traumatic arthritis of ankle. I'm terrified that these will be stopped or assessments made tougher & even more stressful than they already are. I already feel that I have to justify why I'm still alive when assessed. Question about the proposed changes to disability benefits.
Suppose you get awarded the highest rate of PIP for 10 years. Soon after this, the government follows through on their threats to reduce disability benefits/eliminate PIP. Would you then lose the benefits you've just been awarded, or would you continue to get them for 10 years then lose them?

Changes to pip descriptors to make it harder to get
seeing the recent media coverage regarding Liz Kendal and the labour goverment needing or wanting to save 5 billion from the benefits bill I understand after reading into it the bulk of it would come from not raising benefits inline with the 1.7% uplift not fair but something we have to deal with but what I am wonderingā¦

DWP confirms it is increasing the automatic extension period of existing PIP awards awaiting review
The DWP has confirmed that with effect from 6 September 2022 it is increasing the automatic extension period of existing PIP awards awaiting review from 3 months to up to 12 months and will do this 35 days before their end date.
