Question about the proposed changes to disability benefits.

Suppose you get awarded the highest rate of PIP for 10 years. Soon after this, the government follows through on their threats to reduce disability benefits/eliminate PIP. Would you then lose the benefits you've just been awarded, or would you continue to get them for 10 years then lose them?

Hi and a very warm welcome to the community.

    Hi @Aella

It's a worrying time, but as luvpink mentioned, we don't know much about the details yet. We've got a main discussion going about the possible changes, which you can read here: Upcoming changes to benefits.

At the moment, no formal announcements have been made, so no one knows for certain what the changes will be or how they’ll be implemented. However, we're actively campaigning and raising awareness through The Cost of Cuts, and we’d really appreciate your support and signature.

We understand this is a difficult topic, and many people are finding it challenging. To keep the community a safe space, we're encouraging all discussions on benefit changes to stay in one place. For that reason, we’ll be closing this discussion, but we’d love for you to join us over in the main discussion if you wanted to chat about it: Upcoming changes to benefits.
