I did win My pip M.R

I just thought I'd write this now as I know there will be people about to start the process and I thought I'd offer my advice ( if it can be of any help). What I would say though is Kimmy87 and Poppy12345 know the system far greater than me so will better to answer any questions.Im only telling you my experience.Basically I was declined pip and only scored 4 points overall.I was utterly devastated, not really just by not getting the award but the inaccuracies in the report which triggered off my already highened emotions.I immediately wrote a letter and used the brief of that I'd like them to reconsider and why.I spoke from my heart but kept it relatively brief, just outlining a couple if points which I felt extremely unfair from the report. But without being accusational. There were actually factual mistakes within my report which I also pointed out.A week later I read that you need to send as much evidence as you can so I sent in a 'medical summary ' which I obtained from my GP.During my conversation with the decision maker it seems they don't contact gps and information about how your illness/disability/s affect you relies heavily upon what you put down and how this translates across too in your assessment.I made mistakes in the report that I initially filled in online ( I cannot clearly remember what I put but I was not in a good place). What I would say for a M.R is read the report you got back clearly, gather your medical evidence and write a strong and emotive letter which relates to the points which you are questioning.Read it over atleast 4 times before you are happy to send. Then ( with any evidence, preferably medical, post it recorded delivery). This is only what I did and every person's situation is different and will be looked upon by a different decision maker.I hope this is of help to someone

Thank you x.I just know there must be people out there going through a similar thing. When you Google the statistics etc and drive yourself insane thinking you are definitely going to be declined. This is why I thought I'd write what happened to me.

I had them record my assessment and I recorded it too as I’ve had a lot of health changes since I filled in my review form over a year ago, I am just waiting for result I’m not sure how my assessment went as I felt my assessor did not give me time to explain how my health affects me it was very rushed and I felt very uneasy.

@Magicalmoon It really is impossible to tell.I only say this this because my assessor was/ atleast sounded extremely sympathetic, gave me lots of time.Unyet To say I was shocked by my report is an understatement. It leaves people who already have trust issues feeling so much worse.I think when we are in this situation waiting for the result it's agony going over what you said, what they said and may even be worse if you are constantly listening to it too. What it all boils down to is the decision of A person who has never met.But you can get the decision that is right for you and by the support on here I have personally found it the best place.I searched Facebook,Google, tiktok, every statistic under the sun.until I realised that I was simply too ill.

I think personally ( if it was me) I would take it as a positive that they didn't give you much time.I don't want to get your hopes up ( and I have never had a review obviously). But common sense would tell me that you were entitled before. If you still have the same illness/disabilities and have clearly demonstrated how they impact your daily living then to me perhaps it was obvious to the assessor and maybe why they didn't see reason for a lengthy assessment?.I could be totally wrong. But sometimes it's nice to think positively especially when we literally make ourselves sick with worry and can't eat, sleep or function X

I think it's complicated natural to feel 'uneasy' as you say you felt.I was so nervous that the call didn't come through on.exactly 9.30am.So I used my sons mobile to call them to see what the issue was so my phone was free.Left a do not disturb notice on my front door incase anyone knocked ( not that people ever do).Took.the call in my hallway incase my neighbour could hear my call through the thin walls!…this is all before we'd even got going.Youd be in hysterics if I told you what happened when the post came shooting through the letterbox!( it's funny now,but at the time I was a complete wreck). So my point is we are all very simular in how going through it affects us x

@Jane315STARX , Congratulations on your PIP MR success story . It’s very motivating in the midst of all the negative experiences we hear . I am also awaiting my r/v Assessment date, although my PIP award has been extended to a year .. There are very useful points I can take from your post. Thank you and trusting you manage your health in the best way possible. Take care and keep smiling 🤝
