Hi all
I'm now really anxious bf been sorting airport assistance out today it had been booked and confirmed but as instructed to call 24 hours before he did
To be told there is no available lift onto plane for me to get up and down the steps
I'm either going to have to be carried or go up and down on my bum how humiliating
This was to be a tester for going abroad as a disabled person for first time . Doubt I will ever do this again
I won't be sleeping tonight I'm so angry and upset

So sorry to hear this. I would definitely complain! Yes, airports are very busy at Christmas time but it’s no excuse and you don’t deserve the added stress. I hope you have an amazing holiday taking away this. I do think that the other passengers would be very sympathetic to you and it’d show how bad things are for all airports.

I thought they had them jet bridge things were you just walk straight onto the plane once you're in the airport. I agree with bg844 would look very bad for the company if they don't give you some kind of assistance.
Try not to stress too much and enjoy your holiday you're going to have a great time 👌0 -
Hi @janer1967 I am so sorry to hear this, I am finding it hard to believe. I do so hope something can be done to put this right. I do not know who you would ask to help you but I feel there must be someone. I hope someone out there can advise you. Don't give up this easily.0

Hi Janer1967
I do hope you manage to enjoy your holiday. People lack understanding when it comes to disability, but some people can be really kind take care Margaret0 -
Hi @janer1967 I'm so sorry about the situation, especially as you said, it was a tester.
If you cannot resolve anything with the airline / airport I would suggest emailing the Alternative Dispute Resolution or Civil Aviation Authority so they are aware of what is happening. They may even be allowed to advise you now, or if you do decide to travel again in the future.0 -
Oh no @janer1967 they usually have those mobile lifts, I'm sure they will sort something out once you are at the airport0
-
They said they will get me to airplane steps then it's down to us
The lifts are fully booked so where was my place booked to say its been booked months
I'm not a happy bunny0 -
How are you expected to do that? That's disgusting0
-
I truly hope you get sorted out @janer1967, and have a great holiday x take care1
-
@janer1967 really hope they sort something out, you should be able to enjoy your holiday without this happening0
-
@janer1967, how disgusting! I would complain, first to the Travel company, but also the Airline AND Airport. If you had thought you had done all you needed to to get the assistance, then I would pursue it through Citizen's advice.1
