Report without assessment, how long is actual wait for decision

Yesterday pip person doing my report called. She asked if I had time for some questions and that was fine as she called on my lunch break. She explained she just had a few extra questions and she was hoping this short call would remove need for a face to face or telephone interview because of my circumstances. The whole call lasted about 12 minutes and I later in the afternoon received a text from DWP that they received the report. I am now quite anxious as she never asked about one of my condition, it should be clear cut for that one but keep second-guessing everything I responded to on the phone. I was honest of course but maybe I dressed some stuff a bit positive as I always do to not sound like a negative grump. Anyway she said decision takes about 8 weeks from there, is that the general time frame people been experiencing or has it been longer or even shorter

Sounds like you've had a paper based assessment which is rare but does happen. When they do a paper based assessment, they may ring to ask a few questions but it won't be a full assessment. This means they won't go through all of your conditions because they have enough of information without needing to ask any questions. Now the report has been returned a decision can take anything up to about 12 weeks.1

Good evening @sisina. Welcome to Scope's forum. It is great to see you have joined us. How are you at the moment?
Thanks for already finding the courage to reach out to us. I appreciate how much courage it can take to reach out, especially when you are new and finding things difficult.
I can see Poppy has already responded to your post. Do you feel Poppy's response has provided you with the support you were looking for?
Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything else we can do to support you. We are all here for you and listening to you.
Take care for now and we will look forward to, hopefully, hearing from you again soon0 -
Thank you guys. I guess I'm torn, as she called while I was in "work mode" my customer service language was in full use ie sound positive at all times. I am also very used to saying stuff is better than it is so even though I was honest I might have put a positive spin on it. While I would hate a full assessment I'm worried I didn't get to explain enough now, but I was very detailed in actual form0

This was my second attempt at pip applied in 2020 as well but even with increased timei did not manage to complete the form so quite proud that I managed this time around although I did pay a charity for extra help with proofreading and information0

Hi @L_Volunteer,
Please can I just ask why you have asked the original poster @sisinia the question below to which @poppy123456 had already answered with the informative and correct advice.@L_Volunteer asked
"I can see Poppy has already responded to your post. Do you feel Poppy's response has provided you with the support you were looking for?"
Maybe it is just me but I really do feel when you ask this question on the majority of the posts you comment on, that it is as if you are casting doubt and undermining the information provided by some of the very kind, helpful and more importantly knowledgable members we are lucky to have.
Sorry if this comes across as a criticism but i am sure it must confuse some posters as I know your replies often confuse me albeit they are well meaning.
Kind regards
Schoolmum

I can completely hear how you feel torn @sisinia because she called at the wrong time and you made a positive spin on it.
Hopefully, the detail will be enough that you don’t need to go through a full assessment. Would anything, in particular, make the thought of a full assessment more manageable for you at the moment?
It sounds positive that you recognise what you did well. I can also hear how you have made progress since last time – such as managing to complete the form, well done you.
Please don’t hesitate to let us know if there’s anything else we can do to support you. We are all here for you and listening to you.
Take care for now and we will look forward to, hopefully, hearing from you again soon

Hi @schoolmum. Yes, sure.
Information is not the only form of support. Hence, I ask this question just to make sure community members have received all of the support they were looking for.
There might be things they want to add, for example. Follow-up questions are quite common once people feel comfortable seeking support.
I hope this at least makes semi-sense. Take care for now

I know you mean well, but if your responses were just a little different, I think your intent would come across more clearly, e.g. rather than, 'Do you feel Poppy's response has provided you with the support you were looking for?' naming a member who has just advised, just omit such a sentence & continue saying as you kindly do, 'Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything else we can do to support you.'4

Add me to the list of those that don't understand your response of "do you feel that poppy's (or calcotti sometimes) response has provided you with the support you were looking for"I'm sure if the member that was asking the question would ask further questions if they needed more information. It makes me feel like you're belittling me by saying what you do, even if you do mean well.2 -
Received the text today sayin a decision has not been made yet. Hope the wait is not to long0

Just had a phonecall from DWP. I have been awarded pip. No clue for how much or length as he couldn't really say anything about it but still happy. I requested my report the 28th if Dec and that has not arrived yet so not holding my breath for letter being much quicker0

Report just came in the mail. According to that I was clear cut enhanced living part (17 points). But she scored me 0 on mobility while I think it should have been standard. I'm unsure if I should do anything and risk everything else.
In my application I described the last time I attempted a journey I had to do due to work. It was extremely traumatic and I have not travelled outside my town since then and I only go out if absolutely necessary so maybe 2-3 times per 6 months.
I described my journey everything that went wrong and how upsetting it was and the fact that a coworker had to drive me home (4 hour drive) as there's no way I could attempt journey again.
In the report she described it as even though I was anxious and upset I managed to problem solve and get to my destination in the end (very late and very traumatised) and therefor scored me 0
I am surprised about this as she seem to understand all my other issues quite well even scored me more points than expected on some stuff
Part of me think I should take the win and run. Part of me think that mobility is such a big issue for me.
I ticked no issue on physical walking as I can walk the required distance ( with some pain) if required as was advised to not tick on stuff that's not as clear cut0 -
Hello @sisinia I'm sorry to hear that what you've learned from your report wasn't the outcome you were after. Have you had your PIP decision letter arrive yet?
Once you've had confirmation of the points for daily living and mobility in this letter, you can then decide if you'd like to challenge that decision. Turn2Us has an excellent guide on what to expect at this stage.
For some support with your next steps, you can search on Advice Local for a professional adviser near you, or contact the Scope Helpline by phone or email.
Make sure you take some time to look after your mental health and wellbeing, as this process can be very stressful at the best of times. Let us know if we can support you with anything, don't be afraid to ask0 -
Thanks for your tip @chiarieds. I really appreciate it and it has been really insightful0
