Dads birthday

Today is the anniversary of my Dads birth
I think of him every day, but especially today
As a child you used to throw me over your shoulder
Carry me across your back to places
I otherwise would never reach
I sometimes imagine I still ride high upon your shoulders
Whenever I do anything, I wonder would he approve
I hope he would and does
