Hi, I was awarded LCWRA at the start of December, I received my first payment this month (my assesment period is 17th-16th of each month) I’m just wondering how long it takes to hear anything about backpay and also how much it might be? My first fit note was on the 12th of May and I’ve been getting them since without any gaps.

The first LCWRA payment will be due from the September 23rd payment (so three months worth). They have to recalculate your UC entitlement for each month from may and then compare that with what you have previously been paid so it takes a while. The exact amount you are owed depends on how your claim is made up.
Note that once they have recalculated your entitlement your previous statements will be overwritten by new statements. If you want to keep a record of the old statements you should download them now.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK. -
Thank you for such a quick reply! This really helps😊
