Happy New Year everybody! I applied for my PIP a while ago and I got a text on the 8th December saying they would make a decision within 8 weeks.
I got extra time from the first phone call when I applied to me sending the forms in as it’s been very difficult as my husband is terminally ill. I kept them informed by phone.
I was shocked to read how stressful it is waiting for a decision, and now that is me too. Like a lot of people that I’ve read on here it takes over your life. Every night I hope I’ll get a text the next morning saying I’ve been awarded my claim. I’m hoping that I might have a paper assessment, especially as I had an assessment 7 years ago to get a blue badge when they changed to rules to having one if you didn’t claim disability, even though I’d had one for several years beforehand. Thanks for reading.

Have you not had an assessment? Just to make you aware those 8 weeks could turn out to be around 12 weeks or even longer for a decision on your claim.0

I thought that, and I did ask the help line why I’d had no communication re assessment, but it was a bit of a vague reply. That’s why I wondered if they’re doing a paper based assessment.0
