Hi, I’m new here. Hoping to be able to find out some info and a safe place to chat with others.
I am a 32yr old mum of two wonderful children
9 & 2
I have lupus, rheumatoid arthritis. It developed when I was pregnant with the little one.
I have a wonderful supportive mum who lives close.
my 9yr old is at school full time and my 2yr old is with me 24/7 at the moment my illness is nowhere near under control and I’m in pain constantly.
is there any support available for disabled parents like putting the toddler into day care just 2 days per week. Does anyone know where I could find some info on this?

I’ve heard of direct payments made by local trusts and they will do an assessment on me?
anyone ever done that before?

Do you currently claim any benefits? If
so which ones please?
For the direct payments you will first need to refer yourself for a needs assessment from your local Authority. See link https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/social-care-and-support-guide/help-from-social-services-and-charities/getting-a-needs-assessment/I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
