Hello scope online community

Are you looking for some advice as to what you can do about the rust or what to say to wheelchair services?

@woodbine I have tried WD40 without much success but I appreciate your help @woodbine :)
@littleacorn I am just trying to get some advice on how how deal with the rust because it causing the rust to spread to the frame where you place the footrest on to the chair  :)

Just use Kurust or a similar product*. You need to clean off the WD40, and any loose rust, but a coat of Kurust will do as it says, and turn the rust black, and ready to paint. Good on you for taking the initiative and dealing with it yourself.

*Kurust has been around forever, and as well as the treating and priming, used to be available in colours for the topcoat. I know new rivals are around but don't know the names.

If its an nhs chair then u wouldn't do anything to it without going through wheelchair services as they can be very awkward about servicing and replacing if you have done stuff to it yourself

@janer1967 thank you so much I appreciate your advice I will definitely contact my local wheelchair service and discuss this issue with them further before doing anything that will affect my repair agreement with my local wheelchair service  :)
