Universal credit with lcwra

Hi, folks.
I'm on universal credit and have been awarded lcwra. My first fit note was handed in on 07/06/2022. I had my assessment in October and was informed the next day that I had been awarded lcwra. My assessment period is 28th to 27th of the month, and I receive payment on the 3rd of month. And thankfully I received my first lcwra on 3rd of December. I'm sorry if this is a bit long and I'm sure I'm going over old ground for most people but would this be correct, That my fit note from June 7th would be in  May/June period and June/July, July/August and August/September would be the waiting period, basically am I owed one months lcwra? To be honest I'm just grateful to have been accepted for lcwra and the extra benefits it brings but with my new medication my head is a wee bit all over the place at the moment and though I look at what i think are basic things to work out I don't really trust myself to get them correct. So I'm just checking to find out if my payment is correct and it's really just to put it out of my mind so I can move forward and forget about it. Thanks for all the good work you do and happy new year to everyone I hope it's a great one for you all.

You are correct. Your waiting period is June/July, July/Aug, Aug/Sept.. LCWRA starts from AP Sept 28th to October 27th and first payment would be November 3rd. Therefore they owe you 1 month. Providing you sent fit notes continously without any gaps until a decision was made on your WCA.

Put a note onto your journal under the payment section and tell them that according to your calculations they owe you LCWRA element for the November payment.

Aw, thanks for the prompt reply, Poppy. That's great news. I'll do that. I just wanted to clarify to put my mind at ease. Thanks again and have a lovely day.

You're welcome. They will need to recalculate your past statement to work out exactly how much is owed. Once this is done you'll receive a letter on your journal and then the money will be paid into your bank.

Thanks again, there were no gaps in my fit notes. And to be honest I wouldn't have minded waiting for them to sort it out but I'll certainly put a note in the payments section just to give them a wee nudge  :)
