Here is some hope for those with learning difficulties that the DWP are issuing pip without the need for mandatory reconsideration and appeals.
27th September 2022 - Phoned up to apply and received forms by email during the call
24th October 2022 - I submitted the forms
25th October 2022 - Received a text to say case has been passed to Independent Assessment Services (IAS)
13th December 2022 - Received a phone call from an assessor from IAS
16th December 2022 - Assessment received by DWP from IAS
30th December 2022 - Received a text saying a decision had not yet been made on my pip
9th January 2023 - Received a text confirming I had been awarded PIP and the letter will be with me in two weeks.
10th January 2023 - Used the automated phone system thanks to advice on this forum to check the amount I am due to receive and I am pleased I have got the enhanced daily living amount arriving in my bank account in the next few days.
I may just be lucky with mine that it wasn't thrown out but don't give up and appeal if you need and I will if I have to in the future.
