Hello,
I first reported my health condition July 28th last year, I have just had my assessment over the phone 10/1/23 felt like I was waiting ages for one as I've been reporting fit notes since July. Anyway how will I know if I am being awarded LCWRA, how long does a decision take and will it be backdated etc I'm totally clueless, Oh I get paid UC on the 18th of the month TIA x

You will receive a letter onto your journal once the decision is made and this can take up to about 12 weeks but a lot of people have a decision in much less time than that when claiming UC.If you're found to have LCWRA then you'll receive an extra £354.28/month from the 4th month after you reported your health condition, providing you sent a fit note within 7 days of that and continued to send them without any gaps until a decision is made on the WCA.Based on the information you gave your waiting period is Aug to Nov... LCWRA starts from assessment period Nov 12 to Dec 11th and first payment will be 18th Dec so up to now they owe you 1 month LCWRA element. The above information is assuming you're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on your claim. There's no extra money if found to have LCW.1
