Hi guys, I have been on the lower award for my PIP for sone time now due to mental health and have been awarded twice. I have now had another review which I’m awaiting a decision on.
I had a telephone assessment on the 5th January then received a text saying the DWP have received my report from Health care professional 2 hours later.
I haven’t been able to sleep since and over thinking every detail of what I was asked and said. I am so worried I lose the small amount of money I’ve came to depend on so much.
Ive called but been given conflicting information about timing of decisions after this stage, one person saying it would be between 7-10 days and another saying they had massive back logs. Can somebody please tell me how long it’s taking roughly at the moment? And does everyone seem to be getting texts to tell them a decision has been made, regardless of the decision?

Up to 12 weeks from when the report was returned to DWP. Once a decision is made you'll be contacted. I'm not aware of them sending texts for those waiting for review decisions. I've only heard of them sending new claim texts, if they've been awarded.

Thanks very much if I thought it was going to take 3 months I would have probably been able to forget about it, now I’ve been told 7-10 days I keep thinking I’m going to get cut off anytime. Do you know of any long back logs in decisions?0

You should always remember that when you ring PIP or any other DWP department you're speaking to someone from a call centre, who have very little knowledge in the benefits system and will mostly just read from the screen in front of them.Backlogs will vary in each area and i have no idea on the exact backlogs for those areas. I just know the timescale is up to 12 weeks.1

Hello @shaunybhoyy and a warm welcome to our online community. How are you today?
I'm sorry the wait to hear the outcome of your PIP review is causing you stress, do you have support with your mental health more generally? I know a lot of people feel similar waiting for that brown letter to drop so we get it and hope you hear something asap.
Just to let you know, I've moved your thread to our PIP, DLA and AA category and amended the title to help others find it more easily and reply.
Please keep us posted and in the meantime, feel free to drop by our coffee lounge to perhaps play some games and distract yourself a little

Thanks so much, one last thing worst case scenario. If they the claim is disallowed would my money be stopped before any appeal process? I assume my money would just stop and then be backdated upon a successful appeal but not sure. This is really helpful to help me process what’s happening it’s really appreciated!0

If you’re refused then any decision will overrule your current award so your PIP would stop.
If you challenge that decision and are awarded at either MR or Tribunal then it will be paid from the date it stopped.
If your PIP ends it may affect any other benefits you maybe claiming.1
