I wish I could, I've only just learned of it, whilst been on here, reading the info.
I seem to think it's to do with the size of your house, not certain.
I've just been on the DWP website to apply, but I couldn't say what size my house is.
I tried an alternative way on the Web site, but my energy supplier doesn't take part in the warm home discount.
Where do I go from here.??.
Sorry I couldn't help you as I need help myself.
Why oh why is everything made so difficult....
Good luck.1 -
@TFN I believe the WHD helpline closed on 28th February. https://www.gov.uk/the-warm-home-discount-scheme/low-income1

You'll also receive your £300 cost of living grant soon, if not already and £299 in March 2024 too.0 -

It depends what, if any means tested benefits they were currently claiming during the qualifying period. The next payment for those that qualify is 31st October to 19th November for those claiming means tested benefits administered by DWP.For those claiming Tax credits the payment is due between 10th and 19th November.

Hello, I was always getting WHD over the last decade. A year or so back they changed it so that instead of getting a payment, you will now get the discount from your energy provider. This worked fine the first year...but I now realise I havent heard anything from anyone since then and Im sure I havent had any discounts from EON either. I have been getting the gov cold weather support etc over last year.Should EON be giving me the discount autmatically or do i still need to chase people up? TIA0

Does anyone know the number for warm home discount? I rang a few DWP departments and they just give me the same number and when I ring it it disconnects. When I looked on the government website last November it said you don't need to apply if your eligible you'll receive it automatically and that it will be paid DWP to my energy supplier. I used the government calculator and it says I'm eligible but when I received my energy bill it looks I havent received it. I rang my energy supplier and they told me that they haven't received any instructions from DWP to deduct it from my bill that I'm to ring DWP which I have as mentioned above I keep getting disconnected from that number. The number is 08001078002. Has anyone experienced the same? Can anyone help me with this or give the right number for this department? I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.
DWP and most of the so called support lines will drive you crazy by design. Its best to write direct always.

Ah HERE is the reason why. The stasi state dirty tricks at work yet again as they rob us blind. Trillions for their back pockets and the military to make war but none for the poor. The gov site, which works well for a change, as mentioned above...shows(not doubt at all a deal was struck twixt the robber baron politicians and the robber baron energy companies who get the cash instead of us. I have WHD for over a decade ish without issue. I recall in the 60/70s we had ice on the inside of the windows and couldnt afford any heating but the oddd stick or two we found outside for the fire and a real treta was a small bag of coal. Life has been good since and no heating issues....last year when the phoney energy crisis that yet again means we lose but the ene4rgy companies profits goes up billions much of the time we had no heating on at all...and icy windows are back. The hot water bottle, as it was back in teh day, has been a real lifesaver. My energy bills shot up4x what it was for the same frugal usage I have always had.The gov site states now (just a total scam gov in bed with the scam corps )

Though they did lower the threshold a little last year, it still means that if you live in a flat, there's less chance of being entitled because a flat is usually smaller.1
