Ive been sewing a lot lately that assessment reports are back with dwp in a day is there a timescale for this. Also I am changing from dla on change of circumstance if in awarded higher award on pip does the difference get paid to start of change like it does if you do a coc on pip.

The first PIP payment (for the preceding 4 weeks) will be about 7 weeks after the decision.

If you mean you’ve been reading a lot and not sewing a lot then yes, once the assessment report is completed there’s no reason for them to hold onto it.

Unfortunately when transferring from DLA there’s no money owed even if the PIP award is higher then the DLA award. If awarded your first PIP payment will be about 7 weeks after the decision is made.

If refused your DLA just ends.

Thank you I meant seeing but it autocorrected. Seems unfair that if you are awarded higher that it doesn't start from when you registered the change and got pip forms. If you are already on pip and you register the change its backdated so why they don't when they force you to move over because of a change.
But thank you very much for confirming what I was told I couldn't quite believe it though.

Unfortunately, it's the law and it can't be changed. It's been the same since PIP was introduced almost 10 years ago.

I understand that just seems unfair.

Equally, if the PIP is lower you don’t have to pay money back to DWP.

You could have also started a PIP claim anytime you wanted to.

Of course all DLA to PIP transfers should have been completed many years ago!

I was told not to change over on my own unless there was a change in my circumstances which is what I done. Months upon months ago my award shouldn't be lost/reduced due to my inability to do most things in the descriptors. It's taken pip months to get assessment sorted and I'll still be waiting a while yet by the sounds of it so if it is increased as it should be I will lose out due to their time handling of cases.
