Hi I was just wondering, my friend is over 25 and is single.
They are currently not working but get housing element which is part of their rent and they get council tax support.
Out of curiosity if they started working full time would they lose their rent and council tax support?
And if they did part time work would they lose their housing element and council tax?
Thanks.

Housing element is part of UC. UC is based on earnings received each month. If they haven't been found to have limited capability for work then they won't have the work allowance, this means that any earnings received will reduce their UC entitlement by 55%.If they start working they need to report a change of circumstances and tell UC they are working. They also need to report the changes to their local Authority. Can't advise on council tax reduction because all local Authorities will have their own rules. They can use a benefits calculator and put in different figures to see what it comes out with.1
