Has anybody else joined this forum after the sudden disappearance without warning of the DLF forum please?.I have recently joined this place and there is some good stuff on here, but i am still puzzled as to why the other place suddenly disappeared. Both sites are/were a good source of information and help...
I have just recently received a PIP application form to fill in and am very worried that my benefits will be stopped, and stopped at a time when energy bills are sky high...I was also wondering what happened to people last year..For example,If they have their PIP or ESA stopped by the DWP and they lose the Government help that they get with energy bills because of this,is the Govt help reinstated at a later date when a Tribunal rules against the DWP?..Please help.Very worried here...PS,I hope i have not transgressed any rules by mentioning "the other place"..Thanks

DLF forum? Sorry i don't know what that is. Help with energy bills this year is for everyone named on an energy account, not just for those claiming certain benefits. If you mean the cost of living payments for the coming year then they haven't announced the criteria for those yet but if your existing benefits stop during the qualifying period and later become entitled to a payment during that time, you will still qualify for that CoL payment. For your PIP claim you should treat it as a new claim and give as much information as possible without telling your life story. Is it a new claim or a review?1

Thanks for the prompt reply poppy. My PIP is a review.Down the years i have nearly always had to fight and go to a tribunal every time i submit my claim.I guess many people on here have suffered the same fate. It's very stressful for those of us with Chronic Mental Health problems.
As for the Govt. help with energy bills.I was not really talking about this coming year.I was thinking about the many people out there who may have had their PIP/ESA claim denied by the DWP in the last 12-18 months or so and are waiting on a Tribunal hearing. With a denial of benefits comes a reduction in Govt. help with energy bills.Getting the ESA/PIP awarded by a tribunal a year or so down the line by a tribunal is not much help really, after the damage has been done due to said claimants not being able to heat their homes because they were not entitled to Govt help with energy bills at a time when they needed it.There will be sick people out there who will have been having to live on apx £75 a week and denied the full Govt energy help package, while being in a long queue to get their Tribunal hearing.0 -
If an award of benefit is made and backdated such that the qualifying conditions for a CoL payment were met retrospectively then that CoL payment should be made. It remains to be seen how well this is managed and/or how easy it is chase as time goes by.1

Welcome to the community @jw68 Thank you for joining us! It's great to have you on board.
I can see that poppy123456 and calcotti have been giving you some advice on your PIP query already. I hope that you've been finding that helpful.
As for the you'reable forum, I saw that it went down last month. It seems to say it's down for maintenance. I'm afraid I don't know any more than that!1 -
