I don't think that humans will make it to Mars for a long time - if ever
Simply down to the amount of resources that they will need to take with them on this one way trip.
Specifically food - water can be created/recycled but not food

I mean, food for a 9 month journey for a 6 person crew plus would weigh over a ton - which would be too much for a spacecraft.
"Replicators" (Star Trek) have not yet been invented

I don’t know why they spend billions on space travel unless they are trying to hedge their bets via a vis a giant asteroid hitting earth! “mars ain’t the kinda place to raise your kids...” as the song goes.0
