Hi everyone! First time of being on any forum so feel a bit nervous. My daughter has left sided CP following Herpes Simplex Encephalitis when a baby. She is now 15 and finding school life and growing up pretty tough. It seems that these years see the largest gap between her and her peers at mainstream high school. She has tried contacting others with disability from CP Teens directly without success. The forums are a bit daunting for her at the moment. Would be great if she could connect with others to share their unique experiences of growing up, particularly from the Stockport / Manchester area. Thanks.. Scott

    Hello @CPDadScott

Welcome to the community! :) How are you today?

Unfortunately CP isn't my area of expertise but I've popped your post into our Cerebral Palsy section and I'm going to tag @Richard_Scope who may be able to help :)

    Hi @CPDadScott

Great to meet you and thanks for your post. I'm surprised to read that your daughter didn't have a positive experience with CP Teens. The thing with forums you have to build relationships before reaching out directly to individual people.

The teenage years are challenging. Especially with social media and its effects on body image.

What kind of interests does your daughter have? One organisation that I can suggest is Phab. Phab is a group that brings disabled and non-disabled young people together through activities and social events. They also have 130 local clubs.
