Pip application and assessment

Hello I am writing this on behalf of my partner. He applied for PIP in October 2022, waited a long time for the form to come through the post because of the strikes. We eventually got the forms and we had all the medical evidence ready to send off but then we started getting more letters through the post of my partners conditions, so we asked for a extension. We sent the forms and the evidence of on 6th December and they recieved them about a week later. Then he got a text of the assessment people saying they are handling his assessment if he needs one. Then on 18th January he got a text from DWP saying they have received the written report of his assessment without having to speak to anyone. So I called up the next day to ask if they received the other forms we sent off on 7th Jan and they said they have. I also asked for the assessment report but they said to keep an eye out in your bank incase the money goes in. So just wanted to ask if anyone has ever been accepted when they've had a paper based assessment. I would appreciate any comments you may have.

Paper based assessments are rare but definitely possible. My daughter's had 2 for her PIP and i've had one. Never been refused with either of them. Once the decision is made if you're not happy you can challenge that decision by first requesting the Mandatory Reconsideration.

Hello got the best news today. My partner got his awarded text this morning just after 8am. So I called the automated payment line and they said how much his 1st payment will be. It sounds like he got enhanced on both daily living and mobility. Am so happy that he got it. Just waiting on his backpay to go in the bank. I know it takes a few days.1

Thank you all. Just glad it's all over now. Been a stressful few months for us all. Just a little question, how long do you wait for your backpay to go in the bank. Only got the text yesterday but just wondered how long it takes.
