PIP assessments

Hello, I am new here and have a question I was hoping I could have answered.
I am in the process of a PIP claim and yesterday somebody claiming to work for DWP called my support worker to ask him questions and at the end of the call told him I was going to be awarded and that he would write to me. But yesterday I received a text message saying .."We've received the written report of your PIP assessment. We will write to you once we've made a decision on your PIP. As a guide you should hear from us within 8 weeks. You don't need to contact us unless any of the details you gave us have changed. Thank you." From DWP so I am a little confused? Do you guys think I will be awarded soon or not? Thank you for reading.

The person who rang you was most likely someone from the health assessment providers. Sometimes they will ring to ask some questions before writing the assessment report. They do not make PIP decisions and can't award you anything. Only a decision maker from DWP can do this. Now the report has been returned you need to wait for the decision, which can take anything up to about 12 weeks.0

I don't understand why they would tell my support worker I will be awarded if the dwp guy cannot make a decision? And why say I will be award and then send me text to say they didn't make decision yet. I am in a bad way and cannot deal with this anymore, when will this nightmare end. I use to get PIP before but they asked me to reapply.0

The person who your support worker spoke to shouldn't have told them that because it's not their job to make that decision. Paper based assessments are a good sign but nothing is final until a decision is made.
