If anyone can advise that would be appreciated.

Hello, I don't know who to turn to about this.. other than my mum but due to my autism, I have a tendency to repeat the same thing over and over again so apologies in advance.

I have tried permitted work while claiming ESA, and did two paid jobs, at different times.. but could not sustain the jobs, due to my autism and anxiety and feeling overwhelmed.

I'm nearly 30, and well.. in my life I don't have much going for me..

I claim ESA and in the support group plus PIP too... and I've tried and have ideas to better my situation, but my mental health and autism gets in the way.

A few people that barely know me have been mean and judgemental towards me, due to my current situation.. and I know there are people like me out there too.

Just feeling really low and don't see the point in continuing, constantly worried about my benefit reviews, even though the next one is around November of this year...

I want to better my life, but I just don't know where to start..  permitted work/paid employment isn't the ideal thing for me right now...

Any advice?
Thanks.

It really doesn't matter what people say or think about you, they don't live your reality.
Just think of it as tomorrow's 'fish and chip paper'.

You could start to volunteer, an area where you think you can make a difference, it could be charity related, sports related, etc. Something that you will enjoy and others will benefit in some way. Build your confidence and self esteem.

Keep check of your benefits whichever direction you take.

Morning @JustJem Bless you, try not to worry about what other people say or think, they certainly don't know the full facts. I think rebel has given you some good advice, volunteer work with open up your life, if you are okay around people, it will help bust your confidence, and you will meet some nice people aswel.

Hi, Please never listen to people that Don’t know you or understand how hard life can be. Asking on this site for help is the first step , and everyone knows that’s the hardest step to take. I’m at the lowest point in my life at the moment and feel the weight of the world is on me. I understand how it feels , but I’ve found looking at the next step and not the road ahead helps, as everything in life takes time. Have a long think at the things you enjoy in life and look to volunteer in something you enjoy,.Then as and when opportunities arise , you’re in the right place at the right time.              Good luck.

Hello there @JustJem and thanks for reaching out and explaining how your feeling, I'm glad to see the community has been able to support you.

There's no need to apologise and you certainly aren't alone. As other's have said, only you can know exactly what you're going through, so those people have no right to assume you should be doing x, y or z.
Just feeling really low and don't see the point in continuing,
Can I ask exactly what you mean here? I was pleased to see you've got good support from your mum, is there anyone else you could speak to about how low you're feeling?

Does your GP know how overwhelming everything is feeling?

You're welcome to chat with other members here anytime you need to, we're all here for you. I think the advice our members have shared about volunteering would be a good place to start, especially if you have a hobby or passion that you love.

Let us know if there's anything we can lend a hand with :)
