Received a text message from my local Boots Pharmacy earlier

I was talking to my fiance fiance on video call as he was on his way home from his job centre appointment and I'd asked him if he would mind collecting my inhaler for me from boots, which he did and as he was going out of Boots, I'd asked him to check if it was the right type of inhaler that I like and it's not. The Dr hadn't even bothered to put a spacer with the inhaler. I had another one like it in the past and the Dr had put a spacer on my prescription for the inhaler.
Not only that, I didn't even get a chance to tell the Dr that I can't use the dosed inhalers as they're too powerful for me, but he was too busy talking away. So I looked on amazon for a spacer (it's the only way I can use the dosed inhalers) and they have one that looks like it has a decent sized face mask with it. I'm going to buy one of them and hopefully a blood pressure monitor as well, but I'll be buying the blood pressure monitor from Boots.

If you've paid for a prescription that you shouldn't have, then I'm fairly sure the monies can be reclaimed.

That's quite frustrating @BrianMcFaddenfan07, see if you or your fiancé can speak with the pharmacy or your GP, as you shouldn't have to buy a spacer online.

It sounds like it was your GP's error, so it's up to them to correct this for you.

I cannot ring them until tomorrow now as they're closed.

@rebel11 I get NHS prescriptions as me n my fiance are on universal credit. I said to my fiance earlier that I don't think that the Dr bothered to look at my medical notes as he would've seen which type of inhaler I have and that the last time I had a dosed inhaler I was given a spacer for it.
I'd still get free prescriptions even if I was working as I have type 2 diabetes as well as my asthma and other medical conditions.

@Sandy_123 no I haven't hun as it was broken when I found it a few days ago so my fiance had to throw it the blue wheelie bin when he went to his interview on Tuesday morning.

@Sandy_123 We've got no money until Monday, but I might nip into boots tomorrow either before or after my appointment with my work coach to see if the pharmacist can help.

Speak to the GP, you shouldn't have to pay anything. If you contact the GP first, they can send a prescription for the correct Spacer to Boots (through the Spine - Spine allows information to be shared securely through national services such as the Electronic Prescription Service) then Boots can dispense the Spencer (Free of Charge).

Spencer = Spacer, definitely don't ask your Doctor for 'Spencer'.  :)

I haven't been able to get through to my doctors yet, but I need to contact them tomorrow as I need to order my repeat prescription for my antidepressants and metformin. I'm going to see if can get spacer for my new inhaler.
