Hi,

I have submitted my online PIP form yesterday, what’s the next step from there ? Roughly how long are claimants waiting since submitting the form ? Is there a time frame for DWP to check the form and evidence received ?

I’m new to all this, many thanks

You may be waiting several months, there’s no real timescale on time for an assessment. You may also be seen within a few weeks, it really does depend on the backlog for your area.
Once you finally get a date for assessment a decision should be made within 12 weeks of PIP receiving your report back.

You should ring them to tell them you would like it to be recorded. Some assessors will refuse to be recorded, which is within their rights. If it's a telephone assessment you have then before the assessment starts you should remind them that you asked for it to be recorded.

You could just tell them when you have the assessment.

Hi I sent my renewal 16wks ago, phoned today to check on progress to be told it hasn't even been allocated to anyone. You may be lucky and have a quick reply but if my wait is anything to go by please don't expect a fast reply. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Xx
Yours is a review which are taking much a lot longer than new claims, which is what this thread is about. There’s been a lot more new claims since Covid and they’ve been concentrating on those.

In comparison to many others your 16 week wait so far isn’t long at all. We have members that have been waiting longer than a year.
