LCWRA Payment after Retirement Age

I have claimed UC with LCWRA for approx 5 years and am due to formally retire next January 2024. I also claim PiP basic level. I understand that my UC payment will cease and be replaced by my State Pension but what will happen to the extra money I get with the LCWRA element. Thank you in advance.

If no partner under pension age this will also cease. Assuming you will claim Pension Credit you will be entitled to SDP providing no one claims CA for looking after you and you live alone/with other adults also claiming PIP.0

Thank you both for your replies. I live alone with no carer. I claim the Daily Living Element for PIP. I incorrectly thought the LCWRA payment would automatically be replaced at retirement age by AA (Lower level). I have never heard of SDP will this automatically be added or will I have to claim it. Kind Regards.0

LCWRA is part of UC and can't be replaced by AA because AA is a disability benefit. As you're already claiming PIP, AA doesn't apply to you.SDP or Severe disability premium is a premium paid on top of certain means tested benefits like Pension Credit, Income Related ESA/JSA or Income Support. You will need to claim pension credit before reaching state pension age and then if you still live alone and no one claims either carers allowance or carers element of UC for looking after you at that time then you'll be entitled to the SDP in your pension credit calculation.2
