Hi there
My son is starting college in September it is classed as full time course even though it will only be 2.5 days a week
Mt question is if he was to get a part time job would this affect my benefits eg uc child element , child benefit and council tax reduction
Or because he is still in full time education will he still be classed as a dependant and no change to my benefits
Thanks in advance

If he gets a part time job it wouldn’t affect your UC or child benefit.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Child benefit and child element of UC won't be affected
I'd like to think council tax reduction wouldn't either as he's under 18 so not liable to contribute but I don't know for definite about that
Edit: Sorry I didn't see poppy had already replied -
Thanks that is what I thought but just wanted to be sure
