They are really great choices @janer1967

There are a couple of my favourites not in the top 20 too. Roman Holiday, Pride and Prejudice or Some like it Hot.

Brief encounter is a famous love story, I'm surprised it's not on the list.
    Likewise Anthony and Cleopatra.

Another slightly off kilter one is Big starring Tom Hanks.

I always find it amazing how films that did so well at the time make the top of the list versus films that do well now and barely make the list.

There is a movie, I don't know what it is called, but it's not 84, Charring Cross Road. I've Googled the movie many times, but can't find it. I think it may have been an American TV movie. It was years ago, but I have always remembered the movie and would like to see it again. I can't even remember where I was when I saw the movie; I could have been anywhere. It starred Glenda Jackson and Anthony Hopkins. They met in a bookstore on Charring Cross Road. They had the most subtle relationship and they went to Brighton, broke in to The Brighton Aquarium and rescued a dolphin that they released in to the sea off Brighton beach. The movie was wondrous and spellbinding.

I wonder if anyone can remember Frasier (US TV sitcom) and the potboiler romance between Niles and Daphne? It was superbly acted and when at long last they did get together it was a moment of sheer joy. I think it was perhaps the best on-screen romance ever.

Seen 9 of the films.  Until a couple of years ago would have said Gone With the Wind was the best but have changed my mind.

My favourite is not a film but a TV series - Outlander.  If you've never watched it or read the books I can recommend it.

I've seen Ghost and Gone With The Wind,I'm not really fussed on romantic films.

    I prefer serial killers.

@ShirleyW I'll have to introduce you to my friend, all I hear is Outlander this and Outlander that :D It's still on my list to watch!

For me, I think the biggest surprise was how many films are actually classed as 'romcoms' so they don't make it as high on lists like the IMBD one. What's love without some laughter?

    Wait, what about
    'You've Got Mail' ?
I love that film, especially on a cold evening with my big fluffy socks and a huge mug of tea..
Definitely one of my guilty pleasures!

It was glorious wasn't it, Niles love for Daphne was so pure and gentle.

I hear Frasier is returning but David Hyde Pierce has confirmed he won't be joining the show. I'm not sure how I feel about a new series, as the original was just brilliant.
I will probably give it a miss as I like Frasier just as it was..

Hi, I love romantic movies. I watched most of those listed as top 20. I would like that true romantic love would more happened to everyone in reality than just on the cinema  screen and wish you all found true love too.
